How ARESTIN® Works
Advanced Microsphere technology for sustained release
ARESTIN® adheres to the periodontal pocket upon insertion. Moisture in the pocket breaks down the polymer base containing the minocycline, causing fluid-filled channels to form inside the Microspheres, allowing a controlled release of minocycline well above the levels needed to eradicate the common periodontal pathogens. ARESTIN® maintains therapeutic drug concentrations for up to 21 days.
